UMass head coach Derek Kellogg's opening statement:
"This is what we've come to expect from the UMass/Temple games, dating back to a long time ago.  I thought it was a pretty epic battle.  It's one of those things where we're going to miss Temple, but now we'll just have to pick someone else to have a beef with."

Chaz Williams (28 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds) on his play tonight:
"I was just basically doing what the team needed me to do.  I just had to make plays.  Growing up, I used to play football, so I'm kind of used to it. (his physical style of play) We do it together, no matter what.  I always credit my teammates for everything I do.  Tonight was one of those nights where God blessed us."

"I think we're a really good basketball team.  I'll just leave it up to the powers that be to make that decision."

On UMass' semifinal matchup with VCU:
"I didn't see their game, but I heard their band, and ours was really pumping too.  It's going to be a battle of who's going to have the most fans."

Comparing his NIT team last year to this year's group:
"I think our guys matured a little bit in our run to the NIT, and that really helped us today."

Temple head coach Fran Dunphy's opening statement:
"I think there's a little bit of an advantage when you can play on Thursday.  We were fresher early, but we didn't take advantage."

On UMass outrebounding Temple 40-23:
"The rebounding edge is 13-9 the way I look at it.  They got four more offensive rebounds than we did."

On Chaz Williams:
"He's got a lot of speed and quickness to him."
