George Beamon Day-To-Day With Mild Shoulder Sprain

What was thought to be a potentially season-threatening injury for one of the most dynamic scorers in the MAAC has turned out to be just a minor bump in the road for the conference's preseason favorite.

George Beamon, Manhattan's all-MAAC senior guard and conference Player of the Year contender who left last night's game against Quinnipiac after landing hard on his right shoulder after a foul in the first half, suffered what was deemed a mild sprain of the shoulder in question after being evaluated earlier today. The native of Roslyn, who leads the Jaspers in scoring with an average of 20.1 points per game, is being listed as day-to-day by head coach Steve Masiello as Manhattan seeks to rebound from their first road loss of the season when they host Marist this Sunday. Furthermore, college basketball insider Jon Rothstein is reporting that Beamon will miss the contest against the Red Foxes, who carry a five-game winning streak into tonight's matchup with Siena after an 0-9 start.

A Daly Dose Of Hoops will have further information on George Beamon when it is made available.
