Rysheed Jordan to return Tuesday for St. John's

What had the potential to be a long-term absence turned out to be merely a weekend respite, as Rysheed Jordan will dress for St. John's and return to the Red Storm for their contest against the eighth-ranked Villanova Wildcats.

"Rysheed has returned from his home after going through a challenging week," St. John's head coach Steve Lavin said in a release issued through the university's athletic communications office. "He will practice with the team today and suit up tomorrow for our game with Villanova."

Jordan, St. John's second-leading scorer behind D'Angelo Harrison with an average of 14.0 points per game, could not have made his return at a better time, as the Red Storm enter their showdown with Villanova on the heels of consecutive losses to Seton Hall and Butler; the latter of which was played without the sophomore point guard, to drop to No. 24 in the Associated Press poll, a nine-spot plunge from their previous No. 15 ranking.

Jordan had missed the Butler game due to the death of his grandmother Friday evening, taking an indefinite leave of absence to tend to his family.
